World Heart Day is observed on 29th September every year to create awareness about heart health Thanjavur Meenakshi Hospital organized World Heart Day awareness walk in 
Thanjavur this morning. This awareness rally which started from Bishop Sundaram complex near Tanjore Child Jesus Temple was organized by Deputy Chief of District Police 
Mr. Ziaul Huq. IPS,Rector of Bishop's School Rev. S.Vincent, Cardiology Society Tamil Chapter President Dr.V.Murugesan and Vinayaka Mission Dean Dr.C Gunasekaran flagged 
off the event. Traditionally Indians have low levels of good fats in their bodies. This is the reason for the high prevalence of cardiovascular disease in the Indian 
subcontinent. Daily walking is very helpful in preventing this. Walking daily can increase the amount of good cholesterol that is good for the body. 
It can also prevent heart disease to a great extent.Exercise is great for people of all ages. Therefore, more than 1,000 people participated in this walk in Thanjavur, 
emphasizing the idea that daily walking is necessary to protect the health of the heart Public, students and doctors and hospital staff participated.  
A walking tour through different parts of the city Ended at Tanjore Meenakshi Hospital Complex. Tanjore Meenakshi Hospital had made good arrangements for the walk.
