Obstetrics and Gynaecology
TENDER MOMENTS DESERVE WORLD-CLASS CARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE.
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Meenakshi Hospital is a tertiary care centre that offers contemporary, comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in a nurturing atmosphere for women in all stages of life.
Obstetric HDU:
We have a dedicated Obstetric Critical Care High Dependency Unit (HDU) to care of mothers with high risk pregnancy. Mothers suffering from various medical disorders such as epilepsy, severe pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, chronic hypertension, heart diseases, renal disorders including post renal transplantation, SLE and diabetes are cared routinely in our centre.
Foetal Medicine:
We provide preconception Counselling, genetic Counselling, prenatal diagnosis including comprehensive and targeted USG, first trimester aneuploidy screening, Chorionic Villus sampling, amniocentesis and foetal blood sampling. Foetuses with severe oligohydramnios and IUGR are periodically reviewed with Foetal Doppler, Biophysical profile and Cardiotocography (NST and CST) and delivered at the most appropriate time for better postnatal survival. We also have extensive clinical experience in the management of preterm labour, cervical insufficiency and preterm rupture of membranes with optimal results.
Gynecology:
We care for women from adolescence to menopause and beyond. Each patient is counselled individually regarding their problems and guided through the various treatment options available. Finally we help them choose an appropriate treatment mode, taking into account their special needs and medical conditions. Minimal access surgeries (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures) are performed on a majority of patients for better patient comfort, at an affordable cost.
